	18th December 2009 North at the forefront for low carbon transformation As world leaders meet in Copenhagen, the Northern Way today publishes a comprehensive account of the contribution the North of England can make in securing a low carbon future. The paper, "Energising The North: Mobilising the northern regions to deliver our low carbon energy future" argues that, with support and investment, the North of England could be at the forefront of an industrial revolution, leading the transformation of the UK to a low carbon economy. • Click here to read more

	10th December 2009 Partnership for Growth The Northern Way was today highlighted by the Government as an example of best practice in cross-regional collaboration, mobilising resources from the three northern development agencies to invest in economic opportunities across regional boundaries. • Click here to read more

	2nd December 2009 NorthernNet - Connecting the North at Light Speed The Northern Way has invested £9.4m, supported by a further £2.27m from the NWDA, in developing physical premises and a very high speed telecommunication network of 100Mbs (on average and upgradeable to 1 Gbps). For the first time, the Northwest, Yorkshire and the North East will have a single high speed, secure, digital network that connects the region's creative and digital industries and customers. • Click here to read more

	1st December 2009 Northern collaboration helps drive the economy and growth The Northern Way was highlighted by the Government as an example of best practice in cross-regional collaboration, mobilising resources from the three northern development agencies to invest in economic opportunities across regional boundaries. The BIS publication, "Partnerships for Growth" argues that "In the North of England, the Northern Way partnership provides an example of best practice in cross-regional collaboration, in specific areas where a joined-up approach improves efficiency and effectiveness". 	1st December 2009 Northern Way support for Plastic Electronics The Northern Way's £5.7m investment in Plastic Electronics, focused on the PETEC centre in County Durham, with links across the North, was highlighted in the UK's Strategy to develop this important new industry. • Click here to read more
