This report on "Future Rail Use and the Woodhead Tunnels" sets out the current situation regarding the Woodhead tunnels and National Grid's on-going work to relocate high voltage electricity transmission cables from the Victorian era Woodhead rail tunnels to the tunnel built by British Railways in the 1950s; and then, given National Grid's on-going work, goes on to consider what options there may be for future rail use of the Woodhead tunnels.
